Characteristics of gels used in the fluids engineering
Hudák, Igor ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
Not only in common life, but also in the technical area the usage of gels presents some kind of standard. Gels offer a unique possibility of usage in numerous areas. The gel structure itself is a very interesting material however it’s hard to specify its characteristics. The gel system presents a huge macromolecular network which enables to observe its different characteristics in comparison to other materials. In some circumstances gels act almost as conventional materials, in other circumstances, however, they act significantly otherwise. Therefore this bachelor thesis deals with a description and summarization of single characteristics of gels in chosen branches of the mechanical engineering industry where gels are used on a daily basis, such as sealant of pipeline systems, wires or electronic components. The thesis also describes principles of gel formation, with the emphasis to building of gel substance and with respect to its mechanical and physical features. In the end, the thesis gives a comparison of chosen characteristics of gels that are used as sealants and gels that are used for encapsulation of electrical set.
Tram Network for New Brno City Masterplan
Grishchuk, Dmitrii ; Seitl, Jan (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the planning of routes and their operating parameters for the tram network in the new Brno city masterplan. The work evaluates operational and capital expenses that are bound up with running and further expanding of the tram system. The numbers of inhabitants and jobs included in 300-meter zones around tram stops were assessed. The calculated values are compared with the current situation. Based on the results, a suitable composition of the vehicle fleet and the order in which new tracks should be constructed is recommended. Further measures are proposed to improve coverage of city territories by the tram system, especially construction of tram ways to other densely populated areas of Brno and the organization of selected transfer points
Accuracy limits of high pressure natural gas density measurement.
Žalčík, Petr ; Vdoleček, František (referee) ; Koška, Petr (advisor)
This master`s thesis summarizes methods of measurement of natural gas density used in natural gas flow measuring system during transport and distribution of the gas. Concretely the direct measurement of natural gas density by gas density transducer and methods of determining natural gas density using pTZ methods. Experimental part is focused on effect of ambient temperature on value of measurement by gas density transducer.
Diagnostics of the perspective insulating liquids
Spohner, Milan ; Rozsívalová, Zdenka (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
This work deals with the classification and diagnosis of electrical insulating liquids. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the mathematical and physical principles of these liquids. The automated workplace was compiled with development environment VEE Pro for measurement of viskosity and control thermostat medingen and modifiable components for measuring complex permittivity in the frequency range. In the experimental part was carried out measurements of selected material parameters, investigated the effect of difficult conditions and made the mathematical evaluation of physical phenomena.
Sludge Pumping on WWTP
Fadrný, Tomáš ; Medek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Boráň, Jaroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the best solution design for a sludge fitting, especially focusing on the right choice of pumps for the waste water treatment plant in Prostějov. The pumps were selected for a circulation pipeline, which heats up the sludge. Several measurements were carried out in order to determine the statistical evaluation of the properties of the pumped medium. The figures gained were used to calculate pressure losses. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part provides a theoretical analysis of the problem and the second part presents the results and subsequently the reasoning for the new selection of pumps in order to change the WWTP technology from the mesophilic to the thermophilic sludge digestion. The test records describing the testing of the individual samples of the pumped sludge are attached.
Analysis of the rheological properties of vegetable oils and their components
Divílek, Petr ; Rozsívalová, Zdenka (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
This Master’s thesis is dealing with theoretical analysis of vegetable, mineral oils and synthetic fluids, and with measuring of density and viscosity of selected samples of electric insulating fluids. The main part of the thesis is focused on vegetable oils and their elements called fatty acids. Those are more detail described in separate capitols. In those capitols is described their utilization in engineering practice with focus on energetics, where vegetable oils are used in larger scale. In experimental part of the work is measurement of density and dynamic viscosity. Viscosity was measured on two different machines, first the Hoppler viscometer and on vibrating viscometer. Results of these measurement are evaluated in tables and graphs.
The future of human exoplanet settlement
Slezák, Jan ; Dušek,, Jiří (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis "The future of human exoplanet settlement from the present point of view" is focused on the analysis of the development of the urban compo-sition of the city for the purpose of finding the most suitable concept of the set-tlement. Its foundation is hypothetically put on some of the planets outside the solar system, where could be comparable conditions as on Earth. Installation in these extreme conditions is chosen deliberately so that the essential aspects of the urban layout come to the fore. In this way it is possible at the same time to verify the presumption of stability of the basic assumptions of a functional city and ap-ply the final conclusions in the current conditions as well.
Determination of material volume expansion
Silvestr, Jiří ; Rozsívalová, Zdenka (referee) ; Frk, Martin (advisor)
This Bachelor’s thesis deals with the temperature dependence of the density of solid and liquid materials. First of all I measured the density of solid and liquid materials, from which I made an overview. In the next section I focused on application of volumetric and length expansion in practice and made a table of densities of materials and their appropriate temperature coefficients of volumetric or length expansion. Last section focuses on the practical measurement with one of the methods and their automation.
Computational modeling of radial hydrodynamic bearings for water machines
Pokorný, Jan ; Šimek,, Jiří (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to calculate the stiffness and damping coefficients for radial hydrodynamic bearings. Cylindrical and lemon hydrodynamic bearings are considered. The solution to this problem mainly depends on the hydrodynamic pressure in the bearing. The numerical solution of the Reynolds equation is used to calculate the pressure. The effect of variable viscosity and density of the lubricant due to temperature changes is considered. The static equilibrium position of the journal centre is also solved. The stiffness and damping coefficients are determined using small amplitude journal motions about the equilibrium position. Three methods for determining these coefficients are presented. The outcome of this thesis is an algorithm for the calculation of stiffness and damping coefficients for cylindrical and lemon bearings. Results for lemon bearings are presented and comparison with the commercial software DynRot BR is made. The benefit of this thesis is the creation of an algorithm for the calculation of journal centre equilibrium position, a new way of incorporating the temperature changes in the viscosity and the density of the lubricant, and the modification of a method for calculating stiffness and damping coefficients based on experimental analogy.
